FAQs

Packages & Payments

  • No. This is not a subscription. Each wardrobe plan is a one-time purchase—no automatic renewals or recurring charges. You’ll have the option to return each season or commit to a full year, according to your needs.

  • Yes. If you decide to continue after one or more seasons, any previous payments can be credited toward the cost of the full-year plan.

  • Because each wardrobe plan is a highly personalized service involving extensive research and styling, all sales are final once the intake process begins. That said, if something isn’t working, please reach out — I want you to feel supported and satisfied, and I’m happy to make adjustments where possible.

  • Absolutely! You’ll soon be able to purchase e-gift cards for a season of personal shopping services through our online shop, but if it’s urgent, please contact us.

  • If you’d like to continue, you can let me at any point and I’ll send you a link to re-purchase your package at a special discounted rate for returning clients, or upgrade to our annual plan for even more savings. You can find rates for returning clients on our Packages page.

Budget & Investment

  • This varies client to client and season to season, depending on your needs. If this is your first time shopping this way, this is the painful part, as you’re probably not used to buying a whole season’s worth of clothes all at once, but keep in mind that the long-term goal is to make considered choices to maximize your cost-per-wear and carry some of your pieces into future seasons. Breaking old habits takes time, but we’re making it easier, one thoughtful step at a time.

  • While price isn’t always a predictor of quality, sustainably made clothing tends to cost more than mass market and fast fashion, and for good reason. Brands may use certified organic materials, produce in smaller batches (which means higher cost per item), pay fairer wages, and prioritize durability over disposability. Even certifications themselves carry a cost.

That said, the idea behind this service is to buy fewer, better pieces, so you get more long-term value from every item in your child’s wardrobe.

Shopping & Delivery

  • To keep things transparent and simple, I don’t purchase items on your behalf. Instead, I provide a wardrobe plan and direct links so you can order everything on your own terms. That also means you retain full control over your budget, delivery preferences, and return decisions—and I never need your credit card information.

  • You’ll order directly from each retailer, so items are shipped straight to you. Shipping times will vary based on retailer and location.

  • All purchases are made directly through retailers, so any returns will need to follow their individual policies. I always provide return information when available, and I aim to prioritize retailers with flexible, parent-friendly return policies whenever possible.

  • Only if any purchases from your wardrobe plan include items from our resale shop.

Style

  • You can find an overview of my Style Philosophy on the About page, but in short: I focus on timelessly beautiful, unfussy, and high-quality pieces in simple silhouettes over trends—with flexibility to reflect your child’s personality. Since taste is subjective, you’ll get a chance to preview my styling approach during your initial consultation to make sure we’re aligned.

  • The Wardrobe Brief you’ll complete during onboarding allows you to tell me more about your preferences, but if you have any references, mood boards, or favorite pieces, feel free to share them.

Sustainability

  • I’m not a formal sustainability expert—I’m a parent who’s spent the last several years seeking ways to shop for kids clothing more thoughtfully and with less waste. This service grew out of that effort. I continue to learn and evolve with the industry, and I aim to support brands making a sincere effort to do better.

  • I look at material and construction quality, certifications (like GOTS or OEKO-TEX), brand transparency, and labor standards and use the information available to inform my recommendations. I also prioritize small businesses and resale platforms that align with these values.

  • Most clients opt for a mix—usually 75% new, 25% secondhand—but this varies season to season, depending on your preferences and what’s available. You can indicate any preferences in your Wardrobe Brief during onboarding.

  • It’s entirely up to you. If you prefer not to include secondhand items in your wardrobe plan, just let me know in your Wardrobe Brief during onboarding.

Resale

  • If you’d like to resell outgrown items from your wardrobe plan, there are two options:

    1. Ship the items to be sold for you. You’ll handle the shipping cost to send us your items. We’ll photograph your items and handle the listing and sale through The Mini Loop Market, for a 15% fee. Once a buyer checks out, you’ll receive payment, minus our 15% fee, via your choice of Venmo or PayPal within 2 weeks.

    2. Keep the items and ship when they sell. You provide photos, and we’ll list the item. You’re responsible for shipping it within 7 days of the sale — otherwise, it will be canceled.

In both cases, items must be in good, saleable condition, and must have been originally purchased through your wardrobe plan.

  • Only items that were purchased through your wardrobe plan are eligible for resale through the Mini Loop Market. Items should be clean, in good condition, and free of stains or damage. (When in doubt, send us a photo.) Unfortunately, we can’t accept unrelated items from your closet

Ongoing Support

  • A wardrobe emergency is when something unexpected pops up — a last-minute event, a growth spurt, a lost or overlooked item. Each plan includes up to two wardrobe emergencies per child, with a minimum two-week lead time to locate the items an accommodate shipping timeframes. You’ll receive curated recommendations specific to the need.

Garment Care

  • Wash only when actually dirty to preserve clothes and use less water, and keep in mind that fabrics like wool are naturally anti-microbial and therefore can go longer without washing.

Wash cold on a gentle cycle, and hang dry instead of using a dryer. Hanging and having to wait for clothes to air dry when you’re constantly doing laundry for kids is the bane of my existence, but I do it because it really helps preserve fabric quality and shape, and uses less energy. It makes a major difference in how long our clothes last and stay looking great, helping us get the most out of them (and our investment).
